What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Generally speaking, Counselling is a short term process whereas psychotherapy would be more longer term. In Counselling, the therapist supports the client to reach a specific goal. In Psychotherapy, the goal is to uncover the underlying reason for the issue and this involves exploring the issue at a gradually deeper level. In Counselling, this exploration work is not as deep.
